Application Tips
Before you mail your application, review the following checklist to ensure that you have a successful application.
1. All information on the Cover Sheet is complete.
2. A one page summary of your School's Green School Activities is enclosed.
3. Each of the three objectives have been highlighted in the application:
• Objective 1 - Curriculum and Instruction
A maximum one page description for each criteria and accompanying documentation of all three criteria is enclosed. All documents are labeled.
• Objective 2 - Operation and Design
A maximum 1 page description for each criteria and accompanying documentation for at least four of the eight criteria is enclosed. All documents are labeled.
• Objective 3 - School Community
A maximum one page description for each criteria and accompanying documentation for at least one of the two criteria is enclosed. All documents are labeled.
4. The selected verification documents clearly demonstrate how your school has met the required criteria. Be sure each document is labeled. (Documents may include, but are not limited to photographs, student work, data, program or meeting agendas, diplomas, certificates, specific lesson plans, calendars, blue prints, and newspaper articles).
5. The application is well organized.
* Each section of the application is identified (index tabs work great)
* Verification documents are appropriately placed in the application. (i.e. in appendix or immediately after description)
6. You have allowed enough lead time for your application to reach MAEOE or a designated MAEOE representative on or before the due date of April 1st. You may use the US Post Office, a delivery service, or personally deliver your application to a designated drop off point.
