How to become a Green School
Maryland
July 7-11
Through a partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and MAEOE, teachers will participate in curriculum and habitat restoration with a focus on the connection between the schoolyard and water quality in the Chesapeake Bay. Hands-on investigations of underwater grass-beds, oyster reefs, and wetlands will serve as highlights of the week as we assess water quality and identify environmental problems. This five-day course explores tributaries from the Baltimore/Annapolis areas through the watershed and ends at one of the islands in the Chesapeake Bay.
2 local day trips/two nights at Island Study Center
