Schoolyard Habitat

Types of Habitat Projects

Don't stop now! Consider linking several projects together!
Here are some examples:

• Use a rain barrel to channel water to a native habitat, rain garden or bog.
• Add habitat components like brush piles, nesting boxes or a rotting log to attract wildlife.
• Raising butterflies? Plant native food & host plants to welcome them!
• Build a compost bin to provide natural fertilizer for a garden.
• Add a bluebird trail or nesting boxes to your meadow.
• Hang a bat box near wetlands, bogs or ponds to eat mosquitoes.
• Use your imagination to continue adding new elements to your habitats!
