This October 8 - 11, Black In Marine Science and Justice Outside are hosting theBlue Horizon Summit: Deep Waters, Shared Currents. It is a hybrid gathering in Tallahassee, Florida that will convene grassroots leaders working at the intersection of environmental justice and marine science.
This summit brings together two organizations, each leading from its strengths.Justice Outside, resources grassroots leaders to share wisdom, co-create strategies, and drive collective impact through our Power-Building framework of advocacy, funding, and field leadership. Justice Outside will be leading the virtual experience on the Whova platform. At Black In Marine Science we are dedicated to fostering innovation in the global marine science community. We empower scientists, students, and professionals through research, educational programs, and collaborative initiatives, and they are leading the in-person experience at Florida A&M University.
Joining us in person means three full days of our bliss room, keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, field trips, networking opportunities, and a closing sneaker ball. Or you can join virtually, with highlighted virtual keynote speakers, breakout session recordings to revisit, and community networking. Both experiences have been built with the same care, and both spaces will be full of leaders shaping the future of our oceans, our outdoor spaces, and our ocean justice movement.
Registration is live. The early bird rate runs through August 1. Come if you can. Share if you can't.
