What is GEN:THRIVE?
In partnership with EcoRise, the Maryland Environmental Literacy Advisory Network (MELAN) at MAEOE is launching the first Statewide Collection of Environmental Education Providers and Programs as part of a larger nationwide survey effort. The Gen:Thrive Project is designed for organizations to respond and input organizational data to a nationwide landscape assessment, providing analysis on trends in environmental literacy and sustainability education.
The Maryland specific directory is a publicly accessible resource designed to facilitate access and communication between organizations and various users.
Some examples of ways different users can interact are:
Students looking for internships or local job opportunities can look at the geographical locations and contact lists of organizations with opportunities for students to get involved.
Teachers can use the application to find local opportunities to get their students involved in environmental education activities and utilize data for classwork.
Community members interested in environmental education can search for job or local opportunities and events in their geographical area to find what best interests them and get involved in their community.
